© Some days I can not fathom the basis of God’s purpose. I don’t understand why something is or isn’t happening in my life; I allow the concept of uncertainty to become the foundation in which my day becomes a continuous loop of repetitive conflicting thoughts clouding my mind. I think of the series of events that lead to the end of that friendship or the person who disappointed me and, with such depth, I yearn to understand. The concept of feeling God’s presence always is a prominent focus when I judge my relationship with God. However, I have come to the realization that not every day has the same level of depth. For embracing the positive aspects of your life will always bring about the Godly aspects of your life but trying to understand why things didn’t go as planned can be troubling and discouraging. So often, it is easy to think that there has to be a reason behind every setback, which I believe there is. And if so, why is it so troubling to accept this at the moment?
Two things have resulted from these thoughts that resonate within me. One is that you can not always have an exact reasoning behind why things won’t work out; however, I do know that little things will surface within your life during such confusion that will create a strengthened connection with God in the most unexpected ways. Whether you use the hurt to explore new talents in attempts to distract yourself or if you’re reminded of the generous people in the world when they decide to show up for the sake of comforting you, therefore highlighting the Lord’s goodness.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
They say God is working hardest when you don’t feel Him in your life. Sometimes those “behind the scenes” moments, in which your life seems as if it is falling apart, are the foundational steps upon in which you will discover your passions and purposes. It is comforting to know that the discomfort is a stepping stone for your growth. I have come to notice that every step back will allow for two steps forward even when the journey seems misunderstood. For the greatest outcomes result from stepping out of your comfort zone, even if it wasn’t your intention. God’s way of leading you into something that you would have never pursued without it sneaking up on you in subtle yet life-changing ways leads me to the conclusion that a lack of comfort is sometimes necessary to find your true calling.
The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9

It’s actually easy to be drawn away from God when things are not going so well or when something drastically bad happens but we should always remember that God’s works will always be blameless (however hurt we may be) and that He will always lift us to higher graces.

Lovely words, and those verses are some of my favorites. I find comfort knowing that He establishes our steps and not us..

Love this. So true. This is my favorite part besides your scripture quote, “God’s way of leading you into something that you would have never pursued without it sneaking up on you in subtle yet life-changing ways leads me to the conclusion that a lack of comfort is sometimes necessary to find your true calling.” Amen to that!
